For projects where structural integrity and cost-effective durability are the priorities, galvanised steel is the industry workhorse. At Vincent Buda and Company, we specialise in Hot-Dipped Galvanised steel, a process that coats the steel in zinc to provide a rugged barrier against corrosion. Our products are built to survive Australia's toughest environments.

Since 1957, we have supplied builders and civil engineers with materials that meet strict Australian Standards. Whether you are a builder working on a home extension or a commercial contractor managing a warehouse build, our galvanised range offers the reliability you need. Vincent Buda and Company understands site deadlines, which is why we offer same day (Sydney Metro)or next day delivery on our large, well-known range.

    Primary Applications for Galvanised Steel:

Driveway Drainage: Class B Load rating for residential & commercial driveways and light truck access.
Industrial Drainage: Class D load rating for heavy vehicle access
Civil Infrastructure: Council-approved pit grates and kerb inlets for public roads.
Structural Support: High-strength Lintels & T-Bars finished with a hot-dipped galvanised coating to provide an R3 durability rating for supporting brickwork.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No, if maintained correctly. The zinc coating provides sacrificial protection. Unlike paint, the galvanised layer will continue to protect the steel even if minor scratches occur. For major damage, a cold-galvanising spray can be used on-site to touch up the finish.
It is not recommended due to salt and chlorine exposure. While tough, galvanised steel will eventually succumb to the chemicals in pool water. For pool areas, Vincent Buda and Company always recommends 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel Grates.
Yes, provided you select the correct Load Class. While our standard driveway grates are Class B, we stock Class C and D options for industrial sites. We have these heavy-duty items ready for same day or next day delivery.
Load ratings are determined by the type of traffic. Class B is standard for residential cars, while Class D is required for heavy commercial vehicles. Our team can help you identify the correct AS3996 rating for your specific site requirements.
