7 products

‘Box grates’ are designed to move a large amount of surface water quickly. They are typically deeper and wider than standard residential channels, making them the choice for all use cases: driveways, luxury homes, commercial & industrial sites. We provide ‘box grates’ that are built to withstand high vehicle loads and extreme Australian weather.

Our box grates are typically made from Stainless Steel or Hot-Dipped Galvanised steel to ensure maximum durability and rust protection. We offer standard lengths that can be joined on-site, as well as a full range of accessories like end caps and outlets. Vincent Buda and Company offers same day (Sydney Metro) or next day delivery on our box grate range.

Four Primary Applications for Box Grates:

Residential Driveways: Providing a deep, high-capacity drainage point for large homes.
Car Parks: Handling huge volumes of stormwater runoff from paved areas.
Industrial Wash-Down Bays: For cleaning heavy trucks and machinery in workshops.
Public Plazas & Squares: Integrated drainage for large-scale urban paving projects.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A box grate is a high-flow drainage channel designed to move large volumes of water quickly. Box grates feature a deeper, wider profile that prevents overflowing during extreme Australian storms. They are the primary choice for high-flow areas like steep driveways, garage thresholds, and commercial loading docks where standard drainage systems simply cannot keep up with the runoff.
Most are Class B or Class D. We have had our box grates tested to Australian standards to ensure you can use the right load rated box grate for your application.
Using a holesaw or grinder, you can cut a hole in the base of the drain on-site. This allows you to place the outlet exactly where your plumbing pipe is located. After cutting, it is recommended that you treat the cut edge with cold-gal spray.
Yes, almost all of our box grates include bolt-down features. This prevents the grates from rattling or being stolen, providing a secure and professional finish, available for same day (Sydney Metro) or next day delivery.
