Frame Ties (L-Shaped) secure timber or steel stud framing to the outer masonry leaf in brick veneer construction. The L-shaped profile is face-fixed to the frame stud and embedded in the mortar bed as brickwork rises, creating a reliable mechanical connection between the structural frame and the masonry veneer. Typically used for 230mm cavity walls, these ties comply with AS/NZS 2699-2000 and are supplied in boxes of 150 pieces.

Each Frame Tie is galvanised for long-term corrosion resistance inside the wall cavity. Since 1957, Vincent Buda and Company has stocked the complete range of wall ties for Sydney builders. Vincent Buda and Company stocks Frame Ties for same-day or next-day delivery within the Sydney Metro. Courier delivery available Australia-wide.

The L-shape allows one leg to be screw-fixed to the frame stud before brickwork reaches that height. The other leg sits horizontally in the mortar bed as the brick course is laid. This makes installation straightforward and does not require outside access. See all wall connection products in the Building Supplies collection.

Spacing is determined by AS 3700 and your engineering plans. As a guide, ties are typically spaced at 600mm horizontally and 600mm vertically, but your structural engineer's specification governs. Each box contains 150 pieces.

Yes, they are galvanised for long-term corrosion resistance. The galvanised coating protects the tie from the moist conditions that exist in any wall cavity, maintaining the structural connection between frame and masonry for the life of the building.

Frame Ties are for standard cavity widths (typically 230mm), while Stubby Ties are for narrow cavities. If the frame-to-brick clearance is tighter than standard, the compact 100mm x 35mm Stubby Tie is the correct product. Both comply with AS/NZS 2699-2000.

Frame Ties are in stock now at Vincent Buda and Company. Same-day or next-day delivery within the Sydney Metro. Courier delivery available Australia-wide.
