Product Description
Our fire-rated doors are manufactured and tested in accordance with Australian Standard AS1530.4-2014, providing up to a 2-hour Fire Resistance Level (FRL) when installed as part of a compliant fire door assembly.
These doors are commonly used in commercial buildings, apartment complexes, fire-isolated stairwells, plant rooms, and service corridors where building codes require certified fire separation.
Manufactured with a plywood finish, these doors comply with current Australian fire door construction requirements and are designed to integrate with fire-rated metal door frames and approved fire-rated hardware.
Fire doors only achieve their full fire resistance rating when installed as a complete assembly, including the correct frame, seals, hinges, locks, and closers, in accordance with AS1905.1.
Available Standard Sizes
- 2045mm High × 920mm Wide × 37mm Thick
- 2045mm High × 820mm Wide × 37mm Thick
Please note this product is supplied as the door leaf only.
If you require custom sizes or project quantities, please contact our team:
Fire certification tags and documentation are supplied separately and are available on request for an additional charge, provided the door assembly has been installed in accordance with Australian Standards.
Returns Policy
Due to the fragile construction and certified fire-resistant core of these doors, returns or exchanges are not accepted for change of mind or incorrectly ordered products.
Fire-rated doors must maintain their structural integrity and fire resistance properties. Once the door has left our facility, it cannot be resold or re-certified if it has been mishandled, transported incorrectly, or stored improperly.
For this reason, all fire door orders are final.
Please ensure all sizes, specifications, and project requirements are confirmed before placing your order. If you are unsure about sizing, fire ratings, or compatibility with your frame and hardware, our team can assist prior to purchase.

The difference relates to the Fire Resistance Level (FRL) of the door assembly.
A 1-hour fire door provides up to 60 minutes of fire resistance, while a 2-hour fire door provides up to 120 minutes of protection during fire testing.
Higher-rated fire doors are typically specified in fire-isolated stairwells, plant rooms, service risers, and high-risk building areas where longer evacuation and containment times are required.
Fire door certification tags are supplied separately.
Tags can be issued after completing a short compliance questionnaire confirming the door has been installed in accordance with Australian Standards, including AS1905.1.
These tags allow building inspectors and certifiers to verify that the door assembly meets the required Fire Resistance Level (FRL).
Only minimal trimming is permitted.
Fire doors contain a specialised fire-resistant core, and trimming is generally limited to 3–5mm per edge, depending on the manufacturer’s specifications.
Trimming beyond this limit can compromise the fire rating and void compliance with AS1905.1.
For non-standard openings, it is recommended to order a custom-sized fire door.
To meet AS1905.1 requirements, a fire door must be installed as part of a complete fire door assembly, which typically includes:
- Self-closer – ensures the door automatically closes after use
- Fire-rated hinges – heavy-duty steel or stainless steel hinges tested for fire conditions
- Fire-rated lock or latch – designed to prevent burn-through during a fire
- Smoke or intumescent seals (where required)
- Fire certification tags – must remain visible for building inspection and compliance
Using approved fire-rated hardware ensures the entire door system maintains its certified fire resistance level.
Yes. Custom fire doors can be manufactured to suit non-standard openings.
If your project requires a specific height, width, or configuration, please contact our team with the required specifications at:
sales@buda.com.au
Custom fire doors are made to order and typically have a lead time of approximately 10–14 business days, depending on the size and project requirements.
Our team can also assist with ensuring the door is compatible with the correct fire-rated frame and hardware to maintain compliance with Australian Standards.
