Civil Precast Concrete Pits

Civil Precast Concrete Pits provide a durable and reliable solution for stormwater drainage, civil infrastructure, and commercial construction projects.

Manufactured from high-strength reinforced concrete, these pits are designed to withstand ground loads, traffic exposure, and long-term environmental conditions. Their precast construction ensures consistent quality, faster installation, and reliable structural performance on site.

Precast pits are widely used in stormwater systems, civil drainage networks, and infrastructure projects, providing a secure underground chamber for water collection, pipe junctions, and access to drainage systems.

With our extensive range of Civil Cast products, we offer next-day delivery within the Sydney Metro for any orders processed before 12pm. We have 2 delivery options on offer:

Option 1: Customer off load - this delivery option is for customers who have access to both facilities and machinery available on-site in order to assist in offloading the truck. (no HIAB required)

Option 2: Hiab Delivery option - Alternatively, if you do not have access to any kind of machinery on site, we can provide a truck that will come with a HIAB to assist with offloading the goods from the truck. This option is perfect for customers who don’t have access to facilities to help with offloading goods from the truck, our truck does all the hard work for you!

Please note that Hiab truck deliveries can only unload materials within the front or back yard boundary. We cannot guarantee placement in an exact location or the ability to lift materials above the ground floor (first floor or higher) due to various constraints.

Due to safety, please ensure the correct of the above 2 options is selected based on your requirements. If delivery can't be completed—due to lack of machinery or delays exceeding 15 minutes—a re-delivery fee will apply.

Yes. Mechanical lifting equipment is typically required due to the weight of precast concrete pits.

Even smaller pits are significantly heavier than GRC or plastic alternatives. Vincent Buda & Company can provide HIAB crane delivery to assist with safe offloading on site.

Depending on the installation conditions, a crane, excavator, or other lifting equipment may also be required to position the pit during installation.

Yes. While primarily designed for stormwater drainage, precast concrete pits are often used as utility pits for electrical or communication services when fitted with the appropriate covers and access components.

Always ensure the pit and lid specification meets the relevant project or authority requirements.

Pipe connections are typically created by knocking out the wall sections or core drilling the pit wall to suit the pipe diameter.

Once the pipe is installed, the opening should be sealed with non-shrink grout or approved sealing compounds to ensure a watertight and structurally secure connection.

Yes. Precast concrete pits are widely used in underground infrastructure due to their strength and durability.

When correctly installed with proper drainage and sealing, they provide long-term structural performance in a range of soil and groundwater conditions.

If additional depth is required, precast pit risers can be installed on top of the base pit to achieve the desired height.

Pit risers are designed to stack securely, allowing contractors to adjust the overall pit depth to suit site conditions, pipe levels, and drainage requirements without needing a custom pit.

This provides a flexible solution for projects where deeper stormwater pits are required.
