Build with confidence above any masonry opening in single-skin brickwork.

The Concrete Lintel - 110mm x 80mm from Vincent Buda and Company is prestressed from 65 MPa high-strength concrete, engineered for single-skin brickwork openings from 1000mm to 3600mm. Each lintel is cast with a brush finish on the top face during production. Installation is critical: the lintel is placed with the brush-finish face facing downwards, so it becomes the render face once built in. The textured surface bonds directly with mortar and render without additional preparation, delivering a clean, professional finish. Vincent Buda and Company has supplied concrete lintels to Australian builders since 1957.

All 10 sizes are stocked at the Lakemba warehouse. Same-day or next-day delivery within the Sydney Metro. Courier delivery available Australia-wide.

  • Corrosion-Resistant Construction: All-concrete build means no metallic components to corrode, ideal for coastal and high-humidity sites.
  • 10 Standard Sizes in Stock: Spans from 1000mm to 3600mm held at Lakemba for same-day pickup or delivery.

Primary Applications

  • Single-Skin Residential Doors and Windows: Spans internal and external openings in 110mm brick walls without additional framing.
  • Rendered Internal Partition Walls: The brush finish bonds directly with render and plaster in lightweight block or brick partitions.
  • Coastal and Corrosive Environments: Concrete construction is unaffected by salt air and moisture, making it the right choice where steel may corrode.

The brush-finish face is the render face and must face downwards. The brush finish created during casting provides a mechanical key that mortar and render bond to directly. Install it the right way and the render sticks. Flip it and the smooth face will cause adhesion problems over time.

The 110mm x 80mm is the standard single-skin lintel; the 170mm x 110mm is the wall-bearer profile for heavier loads. The 170mm x 110mm spans from 1800mm to 4800mm and carries greater structural load. Your engineer or the full Lintels & T-Bars collection will confirm which is right for your opening.

Both Concrete lintel profiles are designed for single-skin brickwork only. For cavity walls you will need to put one lintel on each skin as this lintel doesnt span the cavity. Other options are available in the Lintels & T-Bars collection.

Allow a minimum of 100mm bearing for spans up to 1200mm and 150mm for anything longer. This is standard practice in brickwork construction and ensures the load is correctly distributed onto the supporting masonry on each side.

All 10 sizes from 1000mm to 3600mm are stocked at the Lakemba warehouse. Same-day or next-day delivery within the Sydney Metro. Courier delivery available Australia-wide.
